World Conference of Religions and Culture constituted

by UNESCO & Government of Macedonia, concluded


MACEDONIA: The Second World Conference on Religions and Cultures concluded at Macedonia on May 09, Sunday. The conference which started on May 06, Thursday was jointly constituted by UNESCO and Govt. of Macedonia. Metropolitan Dr. Mor Theophilose Kuriakose from India represented the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch in the conference. Mor Theophilose presented a paper on pluralism, which was widely appreciated by the delegates. Hon. Prime Minister of Macedonia Nicholay Gruvensky inaugurated the conference. Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid & Macedonia (Head of Macedonian Orthodox Church) and the Hon.

Minister for Culture Mrs. Elizabeth Kancheska, spoke on the occasion. In the conference which lasted for 3 days, 250 delegates from countries world wide participated, which includes the head of nations, ministers, church heads, bishops. Later Dr. Theophilose met Prime Minister Nicholay Gruvensky and assured all the support in building a new cultural support between Macedonia and India. Metropolitan Mor Theophilose had discussions with Mrs. Elizabeth Kancheska, Hon. Minister and Archbishop Stefan.
