I come to you at a critical moment in the history of world peace; for the last 6 months I have been in communication with Archbishop Leonardo Marin-Saavedra (Primate of The Latin American Anglican Church and President of The Global Education Connection of Canada. Canadian Representative of Red Mundial de Escritores -Spanish Writer and Dramatist-, for the Preparation of a peace mission in Africa we named the Africa Caravan Peace Tour 2017.
I was appointment as the Chief Coordinator of this mission and the Host for the 17 Countries where this Tour is going to take place. : Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Republic Democratic of Congo, Central Africa Republic, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mozambique and South Africa. Other Countries will be covered in the next trip. I have also been in touch with several representatives/ coordinators who have volunteered for this mission.
Some Meetings have been held in several countries in respect of this mission. The aim of this mission stresses the need to combat food crisis, end conflicts and promote peace, Education and Innovations program –transformation of formal education into technical education, agricultural, industrial and Multilanguage. The Archbishop with his entourage will comprise 17 people. 1 bishop of USA (leaving Houston, Texas), 2 bishops of Mexico (leaving Mexico City Distrito Federal), 2 priests of Mexico (leaving Mexico City Distrito Federal), 2 Bishops of Colombia (leaving Medellin City), 2 priests of Colombia (leaving Medellin City), 2 Bishops of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (leaving Caracas City), 2 priests of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (leaving Caracas city), 1 journalist of Colombia (leaving Bogota City),, 1 Secretary (leaving Montreal City Canada), 1 photographer (leaving Toronto City, Canada) and 1 cameraman (leaving Toronto city, Canada),.
Series of discussions in respect of this mission; the Archbishop will be able to hold workshops, meet religious leaders, university students, Heads of State and government officials, the business community among others. As part of the arrangements, he wrote to different organisations and individuals to sponsor this Caravan Peace Tour that will last for 3 months and the estimated budget is 300,000 Euros which will cater for Air tickets, Transportation, Accommodation and extra. Whereas efforts have been made to raise funding for this mission, it appears like time is not on our side and something extra must be done.
It’s upon this back ground that I come to you, making an appeal that we should and must do what it takes to acquire funding for this mission. I seek your advice on what we need to do extra. This project/tour must not die whatsoever, If Al-Qaeda can raise money for their dirty selfish missions then why not we the peace lovers. I would like us not to sleep, each one of us should come up with ideas on what to do, we must not lose or miss this chance, the Archbishop should and must come on the black continent, and he has shown love and determination against all odds.
